2018 San Marino Blue M3 with Ultimate Package
Hey everyone,
Finally got time to post some photos of my 2018 LCI2 SMB M3 with Ultimate Package in 6speed Manual. Some of you already know that the Ultimate Package is only available in Canada. Prior to this I had a 2017 Yas Marina Blue in DCT with Premium Package only. Here's some photos! Last edited by SMBF80; 04-09-2018 at 02:11 PM.. |

Sitting nice and low.
Is the ultimate package called The competition pack else where in the world or is it different?

The Ultimate Package is a Canadian only option which includes the competition pack along with many other options including M performance exhaust, full CF aero kit, certain individual colours, exec package, etc.

In the DCT, I found the friction point to be quite high so I would have to gas it quite a bit before the clutch engaged which ended up making it quite jerky. Albeit I was always in sport or sport plus mode (IMO you shouldn't be concerned with gas consumption if you drive and ///M car). But once you get going, the shifts are super quick and smooth in 2-7. I would like to say my manual driving skills are pretty good so having full control is always better than having a computer do it for you. Also, when you're doing heel toe yourself, it's way more fun , which is what these cars are all about anyways! Unless you're concerned with 0-60 times, all the time, I would highly recommend manual over DCT. The other thing that is super addicting his the cold start overruns. I didn't get that on the non comp model. It's loud AF and and pops and crackles on start up with the flaps open are sooo satisfying. Same with the exhaust pops and crackles (is there a nickname for these like Rice Crispy's) on down shifts. |
