Clarification on PROFLEX Commander FlexFuel Kit

Hey everyone. I am just trying to get some help with my research on the FlexFuel kit for my E92.

Everywhere I see online the kit says it is plug and play, therefore no need for a tune. Does this mean that I would need to get a tune still for 91/93 in order to get those pump gas gains and then the E85 gains would work in tandem with that tune? Or do I not need to worry about getting a pump gas tune for the most gains? I would still like to have power gains on 91 while I am running it over stock tune.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

You still need a E85 tune for E85. If you have other mods you might want another 91/93 tune as well.
If you are not FBO, I don't see a reason to get E85 on stock.

You don't need a tune to run the AFD proflex commander flex fuel kit. It's optional if you want to get a 91/93 tune. AFD kit $1200 + tune $1000 and you're already at $2200. You'll need to decide what's the best $/HP for you.

How are you optimizing the ability to run E85 without a tune? I thought the AFD was just to be able to pump and go (essentially giving you the ability to use whatever fuel you have without needing to flash the DME) whatever you want? A stock car would run like crap on E85?

I'm not optimizing anything. I leave it to the AFD kit to do that paired with my ESS 650 tune. You can run the AFD kit on a stock car. A tune is a bonus, so no it won't run like crap on a stock car.

it's the off the shelf ess 650 tune which requires 93 octane. ess does not tune for e85.

With forced induction you get decent gains even without an E85 tune since the extra fuel quantity helps cooling and the higher octane helps meet the existing timing targets.

With an E85 tune, greater gains are possible because the timing targets can be raised.

did you gain any hp going from your ots 650 tune to the ots 650 tune +afd while mixing some e85?
