Cars.co.za: Audi RS5 vs BMW M4 Competition Pack vs Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe
Here is a little write up on the testing of these 3 cars:
https://www.cars.co.za/motoring_news...s-coupe/44753/ As soon as the video is released I will post up details as well. M4 CP stood it's ground. |

for sharing.
Three mistakes i picked up in the article:
I always find it disappointing when journos fail do to their research homework Still cool to see the M4 destroy the other two by 2+ seconds around the track

I can't agree with you more, but i take what I read with a pinch of salt. it's a stock CP, what splitter has it got.. it's not a CS FFS!!! and yes the merc has never had a DCT ever, BMW CP ride height is same as CIVIC just stiffer springs and Anti roll Bars with EDC standard. how these guys get the jobs is beyond me, but ye, allot of home work should have been done ... |

Good read
My favorite line; Whatever BMW uses to measure the power on this M4 Competition Pack, it's inaccurate and it should probably be tossed in the bin. The M4 mercilessly reels in the Audi as if the latter's a family hatchback

RS5 vs c63s coupe...
The different result shows how much its pretty much a wash with these cars. If I remember correctly; there was another video where the new RS5 killed the M4 CP in a drag race, but not from these guys (Cars.co.za)... edit: Here is another vid with all 3 cars... |

Agreed... It is evident that each manufacturer's philosophy is still inherent in their vehicles. Audis are great drag racers, Mercs are torque monsters, for highway pulls and Bimmers are the sharpest tools for carving corners

With a 12.64 second ¼ mile, I don't see the M4 in the OP to be particularly fast. The RS5 and C63 seem particularly slow though. I think the issue resides between the seat and steering wheel.

An RS5 will do consistent 3.5 second 0-60mph launches. No M3/4 can match this on the stock tires, regardless of driver.

That is somewhat negligible as all cars are twin turbo charged. Ciro (from Cars.co.za) previously mentioned in one of their videos that this track is slippery from all the burnt rubber on the tarmac surface, making it generally hard for cars to hook up properly... So that could be the most logical explanation? |
