After nearly 4 very fun years of ownership, a dozen track days and hundreds of airstrip races, I parted ways with my 2013 e92 M3 DCT in July 2016.

I can say with certainty that I missed that car more than any other. Also after getting an opportunity to test drive a lot of cars including the new BMW offerings and even a lot of exotics, I'm going to confidently say that IMHO the e92 DCT is the best overall mass produced car ever made.

Found this little gem at a Porsche/JLR/Mercedes dealer in the midwest. It was traded in on an AMG GTS. 2012 e92 DCT space grey / black with comp, premium, sound, carbon roof and 100% stock except a Borla cat back. Will be another week before it arrives.

I will employ a strict discipline on myself not to go wild with this one. Rather to keep it mostly stock and use it as my utility vehicle and secondary track car. So my "light build" will be focused on comfort for long drives and track safety/compliance. MRF Engineering will take care of it for me.

Cheers.

I think everyone on here wants you to go all out instead. Boosted and setting track records, winning roll races etc with more videos like old times. I suppose we will have to settle for the more mild return of a crafty veteran. Good to have you here with all the insite you have on these cars and be an asset to the forums.

Longboarder, what a pleasure to have you back onboard - welcome!
Certainly enjoyed when you crushed competition with your boosted pearl but also remember your joy when she went back to stock. So stock it is...for now.

Very nice find!

Light build? Discipline? Comfort? Oh, you mean weight reduction to go along with a billet block, upgraded internals and fuel system, full e85 and 12psi boost all suspended on comfortable Ohlins coilovers.

This comment is very interesting to say the least....

I can say with certainty that I missed that car more than any other. Also after getting an opportunity to test drive a lot of cars including the new BMW offerings and even a lot of exotics, I'm going to confidently say that IMHO the e92 DCT is the best overall mass produced car ever made.

To hear this from someone that has had more hands on ownership & experience with cars most of us M3 owners can only dream about has only solidified my understanding of the "grass is greener" affect.

I get board with cars very quickly and have been looking for a replacement for my m3 for about 6 months, and after test driving corvettes, mustangs audi's other bmws ect ect. Although some have been a serious consideration i couldn't pull the trigger.

I will be haning onto my car as i now know the more cars i have experienced the more in my heart i have felt the same about the E9x. For those of us who can't afford to have a lot of cars the E9x is still the best bang for your buck all in one ride out there.

And there you have it folks! And here I was considering selling mine to help fund a 911 GT3 but the more I look back when I ordered mine to spec I just couldn’t let it go. Especially that intoxicating S65. This last M3 is just too bad ass to let go

Welcome back!

Once you do decide to go crazy I'd like to see you pursue some kind of crazy hi-revving NA build since I know Malek has something like that in the works.
