WTB: F80 front rotors
Big Brake Kit your car? Sell me your front rotors!
BMW won't warranty shudder on a car still under 10K, so I'm up for rotors. |

Another Aus member has the same trouble, heaps in the USA. Forum consensus is a factory pad is a compromise for road use - less noise and dust than a track pad - but it will get hot enough to transfer enough heat into the disc to warp it. Can has not been tracked, just driven like an M car should. Always warmed up and down, never stopped after hot. Cheaper for me to buy rotors than to travel 600 KM to a sympathetic dealer that "might" warranty it.

RS29 is a great pad but a terrible choice for street use... noisy and needs heat to stop well, much better off using stock pads and wonky rotors on street when stopping at 60kph and the new straight rotors on the track with the RS29s to stop you at 200kph... your logic seems backward to me

TIP: not a daily, but not tracked. 1st set of tyres at 6k, rotors (and prolly pads) at 10k. I'll be happy with the RS29's, but I will be looking into cooling ducts for the brakes.
