3 owner, all original, rare (only ~2,200 were ever produced) '02 BMW x5 4.6is with only 55,950 miles and $23+K of service records dating back to 2005 - including 19 oil changes. It took me nearly two years of searching to find this car. First two owners were brothers-in-law one in CT who owned it the first three years and the second a NYC lawyer who had it the next 7 years tucked into the garage under his building. I am the third owner of the car and I've had it five years.

Always garaged, non-smoker and waxed a few times/year with Griot's Garage Best in Show wax. Leather treated annually with Lexol leather conditioner. I'm a long time BMW CCA member and this is my 4th BMW after a 2001 325xi, 2005 X3 3.0i and a 2008 550i. Had planned to keep forever but a growing family necessitates sale.

All major trouble points have been addressed at BMW dealers during my 5 years of ownership - both front CV boots, valley pan/coolant system, valve cover gaskets, AC system, clearing drains, turn signal bulbs, drivers side window regulator, etc. I've also changed all fluids (diffs, transmission, coolant, brake fluid) during my ownership and added new pads/rotors all around. Just put in a new AGM battery and MAF in November as well.

The few modifications include a retrofit OEM BMW backup camera, BMW bluetooth (works great with my iPhone 6S and the 5S that preceded it) and BMW headrest monitors with DVD/gaming inputs (originals also available with the car). Three sets of floor mats included - two carpeted, one rubber. Yes, I'm a bit anal about keeping it factory fresh.

Faults include a few small bumper scrapes and door dings, as well as some pixels out in the dash console. Has been my trouble-free daily the last five years and 20k miles. Has never been through a dealer sale or auto auction. You'd be hard-pressed to find a cleaner example for sale anywhere in the country.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a better example of one of the most amazing vehicles BMW ever produced, one of my all-time favorite cars without question.

Thanks guys, it's been a blast to drive. Ultimate stealth high-performance SUV and the V8 rumble is intoxicating (not that you hear it inside with the windows up). The X5M before BMW agreed to put an M badge on a SUV.

Did you know the first people who ordered these cars in 01 received a letter congratulating them on purchasing the "BMW X5M"?

Helluva SUV but I think the price is a bit too high. Unless I missed it, you didn't list the mileage. It would be helpful to have that listed here.

I let my 2006 4.8iS with 73K miles and an extended warranty go for $13K when I traded for the X5 M almost 3 years ago. Have these gone up in value since?

The sound this thing makes at WOT is insane.

Have you seen the prices of high-quality E46 M3's and E39 M5's the last few years? The E53 X5 4.6is is even more rare and a number of them have, ahem, challenged interiors and have run up quite a few miles. If you can find one in better condition, with more high-priced maintenance areas addressed and with lower miles, a clean title and in original condition - oh yeah, that has never been through an auction or used car dealer - for a lower asking price you should go ahead, pick it up quickly and enjoy it.

They're not making any more of these beasts with large displacement naturally aspirated V8's. End of an era - arguably the greatest generation of vehicles BMW ever produced and this was near the top of the pecking order. It will be missed in my garage, that's for sure!
