For the NewYorkers DWS??

Question for the people running dws or the New Yorkers.
Instead of running a full winter wheel set, will I be good with dws on the stock rims. I don't plan on driving when it snows heavy but will be driving after it. streets are normally cleaned up by that time.

DWS will suffer a bit on black ice that typically comes up in NYC. This will affect braking, steering and acceleration.

If I am being truly honest, the only real difference vs other cars (with all seasons) on the road will be acceleration. This is due to the F80s torque. I always prefer to have dedicated winter's for those situations that you don't expect.

Be safe and drive smart!

You can and have used dws on x5, however with rwd powerful car snow tires will still be better in snow and in the cold

They’re measly in the snow don’t do it to yourself. They are a very good wet tire, that’s about it. I have them on my Quattro (w/Torsen). They are just ok for snow. Also had them on a fwd vag vehicle. You need snow tires in ny especially on an M3.
