Best choice of AFE intakes

Hi all -

Thinking of getting an AFE intake for the 135i. Any clear choice on which one is the better choice?

The 54-76306 Momentum GT Pro 5R Cold Air Intake System

or the 54-11472 Magnum FORCE Stage-2 Pro 5R Cold Air Intake System

Momentum GT is the best, that's what I currently run also.

That's what Harold at HP Autosport was recommending as well.

My vote is NOT a CAI I had one from afe and it made my idle Revs bounce and it disconnected from the intake housing every 2-3 weeks. The design was sh*t and they haven't changed it as far as I know. I ran it for about 2 years and went back to the stock intake...tbh much better performance with a sealed intake. Just upgrade ur filter if u wanna do any intake mods

Who do you think makes the best flow filter for the OEM intake?

Imo theyre all pretty similar...I have a afe filter (oiled) but k&n makes one that people like too. Just a bit more flow than stock. U won't see any crazy Gains or anything. Just hear the turbos a little more. Afe makes a dry and oiled filter

You won't see any gains at all in real world. It's not a CAI. It's a hot air modification. You get different sound if you are into that go for it.

TBH loud is relative. The tiny stock turbos just don't have a large enough compressor to be loud. I have the open pod filter type and it's a slight suction and high pitch turbo sound, nothing like a bigger single turbo with intake makes.

Well yes a big single turbo is going to be louder than the stock turbo.

But with turbo staying stock, open intake is noticeably louder than closed intake

Easiest way to git turbo sound is to do a cowl delete

I had it on my car, not the biggest fan.
Too loud and all the sound is inside the cabin.

Intake will sound much better in my opinion, you can hear it inside the car but it is not obnoxious
