Has M3 ever come with run flats?

Almost certainly not, but this is per Autoweek, referring the the 2017 M3, "The last M3 we had came with run-flat tires making the ride harsher than a go-kart at Baja. But with these Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, all of that has fallen away."

Autoweek tends to not be the most reliable source at times. Once and a while I will read one of their reviews and they say something that I know for a fact is wrong. They likely have lazy editors

Maybe they got their hands on one that someone switched tires on - maybe something used a dealer or owner put new RF tires on. I remember a thread a long while back where someone swore their M had RF.

As far as I can recall, M3 never came from the factory with runflats.

I think that all the title is saying is that performance is helped by not having run-flats (since some performance cars do) and not indicating that it ever did.
