Apple CarPlay BMW 2015 M4

Do we have the option to get this for the 2015 m4? My sis recently bought a brand new civic and carplay is super cool!!

Not unless you want to retrofit the new navigation into your car. And CarPlay looks cool for 5 minutes but the BMW system still works better.

Really?? Cause when my sis connects her phone to it, apple map just pops up, so does the music apps in spotify/apple music right on her display.

Let me give you a few examples with CarPlay...

HUD doesn't display any navigation info.
When I'm playing music and go to the text message app, my music stops and activates Siri.
Steering wheel controls do not work for phone calls.

Yeah i agree, CarPlay sucks in general in terms of Apps. As they dont allow other apps to get added on like waze or google maps. I can't stand Apple maps.

I wish there was an option for a full Android 7 HU, there you can do all the apps you want.

There's nothing cool about Carplay that the BMW nav doesn't already do, or do better.


A real pain in the ass when I am navigating, I get a text and screen changes, siri pops up, and wants to read me the whole thing after like 7 voice responses.


Carplay is a fad. A $300 fad.

Apple Maps SUCK! Google Maps is much better and so is the BMw Built in Navigation

The only plus side to Car Play is the quick ability to search and start navigation. Compared to the controller or using BMW remote app to send distinction.

Apple maps is not on par with g maps for sure.

I have CarPlay enabled in my car and after only a couple of days I went back. As others have said, no HUD integration with either directions, looking up contacts or scrolling through your music library. That was a big let down for me along with only having access to Apple Maps. If Waze is ever supported by CarPlay then I may go back.

Use Waze only! Don't need apple's CarPlay, I have it on my Audi Q7. It really sucks.
