Lease Pull Ahead Program?

Has anyone successfully initiated the BMW Pull Ahead program? I read that it cannot apply to M cars nor i cars.

The exception is M cars and Alpinas unfortunately. But typically if you want to get out earlyish, M cars do tend to hold their value pretty well.

How far ahead was the program? Was it a 3 month or a 6 month?

You can get out up to 6 months early but they only make 3 payments. Meaning if you get out 6 months early, you need to make 3 extra payments.

The current program excludes M cars and Alpinas. Yes, it can be done 6 months from your lease maturity, but only 3 payments will be covered.

They had 6 month paid pull aheads in 2015. They dont now (as mentioned, you can get pulled ahead up to 6 months early but BMW FS will only cover 3 of those payments.

That means SOMEONE other than BMW FS needs to cover the other 3... you, or the dealer. Dealer will only "cover" it if they are making it back up "somewhere" else, such as on a trade in, or in the deal on your new car, or (rarely) if selling you a new car helps them hit an incentive from BMW NA so they a bunch of back end money for doing so.

Back in 2015 BMW FS was covering all 6 so the dealer did not have to chip in, if I remember correctly.

I'm talking about getting out of my M3 early for a new one. You can pull ahead on a non-m car no problem.

Where you got it from wont matter. The type of car, and the financing are what matter (so no M cars currently, and must be leased with BMW FS).

Also cant be a 1 pay lease (because they are not actually refunding you money..)

I do not think you may have understood what I meant. Will a pull ahead work for ED given the delay. You sign the lease a week or two before ED and your car doesnt come in until 10 weeks later. You need a car between those two times, thus, does a pull ahead work when the car gets delivered as opposed to when you sign the paperwork. See the distinction?

ok, but thats not a "can you do pull ahead on ED" question, because as I understand your question, its relative to the delivery of the car. That makes it an individual persons issue (if they dont have another car they can use, etc)... but that doest have anything to do with Pull ahead specifically.

You are right that it would be a little more difficult if one does not have another car, because a person would be turning in a car "early" doing ED, then not having a car for the shipping time back to the US unless they have another one.

"I" only have 2 cars in my family (my wife's and mine) but I would imagine that many have more than that, so could absorb the shipping time.

So you do not have answer to my question. Got it. Thanks. Any others who do not have an extra car have any insight?

Hey Scout, so you're asking, can one structure the lease timeline so you turn in your existing M car right when you take US delivery of your new ED m car?

If yes, then yeah we've done that 3 times in a row but not "pull ahead" although I'm guessing it wouldn't be much different. Basically our leases all end around sept so we do an ED then and call BMWFS and add extra months to the existing lease to cover the difference. You can easily add a few months, up to 6 or 9 I think. that way our existing lease was supposed to end in sept but we keep the car an extra few months to cover the difference.

Last time we had to turn in on Dec 31st and the next car didn't arrive until a week or so later so we just rented a car. Of course we coulda just paid for another month, but then we'd have had to deal with lots of cars and that's a pain.

Anyway, hope that helped.

Hmm... that sounds interesting. Is for the same monthly payment, or do they have to recalculate the residual? Are additional miles added as well?

In the past they just extend the original calc, i.e., no changes, just keep making the same payment. Easy call to BMWFS, takes like 30 seconds.

Yeah our lease is not up until the Spring so we would actually be getting the car early. We did not have ability or want to do a winter WD and did not want to wait until next spring/summer for car.

I was allowed 3 months covered by bmw financial and 3 months added to my next M lease. This was my 2015 AW M4 75k msrp had 36k miles out of 45k miles I agreed upon. Many dealers said no not possible, told em contact bmw financial and eventually they all said yes lol. Salesmen can be crooks but go through a referral and its all good! I did tell them I was going to lease another BMW M though maybe that helped.

Ah, yeah, best thing to do is call BMWFS

ha, totally. As a rule I never use the dealer for anything as, in my experience, they don't know anything, have no pull, outdated information, and frankly aren't there to help me unless they're getting something out of it.

For that reason I always go right to BMWFS or BMWNA.

Thescout13 has taught me a lot on this order and taken that move to baller levels by going directly to individual, etc. Thanks scout!

Anytime my man. I like learning how every little thing works and I rather be an annoying customer and have piece of mind than an easy going customer and risk having something go wrong (which had burned me when I was younger).

I will give BMWFS a shot. Look forward to your ED Journal and following your order!
