I'm not either. But our lovely government has made it pretty much impossible to get ethanol free gas.

Shell VPower 91 octane only.
Similarly, I am not keen on ethanol. Tried 94 Octane Petro Canada Ultra 94 Octane (has ethanol 5-10%) - which resulted in an estimated 5% fuel mileage decrease with no perceivable performance benefit. Sticking with the Shell 91.

Shell, Petro or Esso. The only 3 that ever get 91 Oct for my 135i. Although Shell I feel is a better brand then the other two, but I'm not picky when you when gas.

Whatever quality 93 I can get my hands on at the time. Usual that ends up being RaceTrak or Shell

Whatever "Top Tier" 93 AKI with the best price. Sometimes I'll use a non Top Tier gaso if stuck for options (i.e. the only top tier is posting a crazy high diff vs regular grade)
I don't know if you have such a designation in Canada. |

I use BP 93 octane, mostly because it's the only 93 octane anywhere near me. The station sees a lot of traffic by high end cars, so I'm pretty sure the fuel is fresh. There's an even closer station to my house, but all I ever see there are pickup trucks and beaters. I'd bet their 93 is pretty stale.

https://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp I don't know how current the information is, though. Might be worth calling before you did a road trip. |

i use top tier gas 93. its near impossible to regularly find non ethonol gas in illinois, and prolly throughout the entire midwest.. damn corn lobbies.
The only gas stations i fill up from are Shell, BP, Mobile, and Costco. and i will try to make sure that such gas stations get a regular flow of traffic as well. |

I've also visited that website to see if there is a nearby gas station. The nearest one would take about a full tank to get there and back. So it doesn't work unless I drive out there in a tanker and fill up. |

Somewhat off subject rant - The ethanol thing is a complete boondoggle!
I hate it b/c it ruined the fibreglass fuel tank on my '71 Norton Commando. |

Tell me about it. I was a part of the Ducati fuel tank debacle. Ducati used plastic fuel tanks on a few of their motorcycles during that generation run. My 848 was part of it...along with all the other superbikes. The class action lawyers got involved to cash in on this without making thing better for us. Actually it was worse than it was before and people that actually read the settlement terms would have realized this. In the end, Ducati gave us all the middle finger. There were those of us that asked to get the performance fuel tank instead of getting their "fixed" fuel tank. The performance fuel tank is made out of aluminum and had a slightly larger fuel capacity. The only catch was we had to paint it which I didn't mind doing out of pocket. Their "fixed" fuel tank solution was to give us a shortened fuel tank made out of the same plastic material. The shortening of the fuel tank was to allow for any potential expansion due to the ethanol attacking the plastic. Some solution huh? So Ducati said no to the performance fuel tank option and then proceeded to raise the price of the performance tanks so we couldn't argue they were monetarily the same. I also paid out of pocket to have the replacement tank Caswell epoxy coated which was the real fix to the problem. Oh and I had a body shop paint some areas of the tank because it appeared my tank was painted on a Friday afternoon.
So yeah, I know all to well the crap ethanol can cause to people. |

This is one of those times when it pays to be in Canada. Both Shell 91 and Esso 91 are ethanol free. Stick to either one of those and your fuel system will thank you.

They're dreaming. A 128i with factory tune will get nothing extra from 93 and now you've got corrosive ethanol gumming up your fuel system. Some areas have no choice but in Canada, at least for now, we do. Do yourself a favor and stick with Shell or Esso 91.
