Flashing M buttons after steeringwheel change ?

Hi Chaps,
I wonder if anyone could help me out ?. Ive just changed to an alcantara steeringwheel, and on completion, everything works except, the M buttons, they flash when i press them, and wont change into the M settings. Any ideas ?, thankyou.
