I'm a fan! Although I've never driven one yet.. part of me wants to stick with a 2-seater manual but the other part of me wants a bad-ass, under the radar AMG w/ a column shifter to romp around in.

I say go for it

This is definitely true. And some of the Renntech stuff can cost $10K+ for some of their different packages, and there are only a few "Mercedes guys" like Renntech, and they are all super expensive. But its still a great car.

Plenty of options out there that aren't $10k+. Eurocharged, OETuning, Weistec, Dime... all around $1500 and under last I checked for an ECU flash. And a variety of piggyback's that can be found for even less.

The 4.0T is definitely a good tuning platform. They make more power on a 93 octane tune than a FBO S55 running an ethanol mix

I test drove a couple when shopping last year, and they're great - comfortable, decent look, and with the power and exhaust noise it's like driving a cartoon ?

If they'd made a vert at that time, might own one.

Cheers

their ECU tune is about 3000...but does not void warranty. so it is an option

their tune shows about 610HP at the crank. Now their 200cat down pipes are $4000 thats crazy.

it is a different car..the BMW is a better drivers car on the track for sure..but to make that much of a difference on the street I do not think so. and a tune brings it up over 600hp. also i am not going to track the car more of a fun noise maker..haha.. also they give you one day drivers class for free with the car(you just have to get to one of the tracks). thanks for the feedback
