I would look at what BMW did with their PE... just delete the rear resonator... and keep the muffler.

I agree with Dack. The PE sounds about perfect to my ears.

The stock exhaust has black aluminum tips, the PE has chrome tips. That's an easy way to tell.

ya I got the black tips.. exhaust look almost the same..
do the mid pipes restrict performance at all??
my goal is hp.. I don't want to spend $ for just noise..
soo my question I guess is.. is everything back from the d/p just volume??
or mid pipe res del and or muffler del gonna restrict h/p??
I don't wanna upgrade anything behind my downpipe strictly for more noise..
I know a catted d/p is restricting any hp gains.. so I know I need to upgrade that..

The n55 midpipes may have a very slight restriction through the resonator, but it wouldn't be worth replacing IMO. With a resonator and muffler delete I'd imagine you'd gain less than 10 hp compared to stock

My throttle response seemed to improve with intake and exhaust mods. It also felt a little faster. But dynos I've seen show you barely gain anything. But we are spoiled because we can gain so much with a tune. I'd bet you would gain almost as much in weight savings by dumping the factory exhausts that you would gain in Hp. The stock muffler is very heavy and even includes that heavy vibration reducer.

Weight difference between my stock muffler and the MadDad Whisper was pretty incredible. Actually, I think the Whisper was even lighter than the Berk Sport I had as well.

Definitely do not recommend a muffler delete for DD duty.

I'm on catless DP's and Berk mids. Stock rear muffler with flap open.
I feel it's the best of both worlds. Very acceptable noise at cruise, around town. When you get on it, it's loud and gets attention.
Have not tried with flap closed yet.

I just installed the Berk Street, running a VRSF 3.5 catless DP and stock mids. It sounds great, especially since this is my wife's daily driver. Good deep tone, no rasp. Very little drone. If it was my car, I'd want it louder and would've gone with the Race (muffler delete) option most likely.
