If you had $5,000....

Looking for the next upgrade. Budget is $5,000. This would be on an 09 135i. It already has catless DP and JB4. Looking more at performance then looks.

Thoughts?

Apex wheels and big sticky pilot super sports. Upgraded intercooler. Camber plates, thicker sway bars, M3 suspension components.

The best thing you can do is save that money for the eventual repairs. And $5K? That'll be peanuts for what some problems will cost.

Another good idea would be an extended warranty, but I don't know if you can get one for your elderly ride?

I'd take some from each of these:

New tires
Coilovers
LSD
Intercooler
M3 Suspension bits with whatever leftover cash

Also highly recommend looking for some used stuff and you can do it all with that budget.

How do you define "performance"? What's important to a drag race person is pretty much wasted money to a road course person.

So, define an end goal, and then picking out smaller targets that all lead to the end goal is much easier and way more effective. Your original question is more like "how can I spend five grand" than it is helping you pick a good upgrade...

Intercooler and some lightweight rims like Advans. Or you could go with some coilovers and one of those i mentioned. IF you don't have an intake i'd probably get that. I tried with stock versus DCI i like it better with DCI.

Oh and since I think we all forgot - Charge Pipe if you don't have one already. Your stock one will fail, and that can be ugly.

So, what else HAS to be done with the turbos? Now charge pipe, inlets, anything else? Do you NEED a tune?
