spark plug replacement 2012 n55 E88 135i

Looking for pics or video on how to replace the plugs on my N55, 2012 135i convertible E88. Also, what are the best plugs for this car? I was reading that NGK platinum were good. Any help would be great thanks, TOM.

Stick with OEM plugs from a BMW dealer as many have reported issues with other plugs. Here are the vids:

It would be fine to go with stock plugs if your car is completely stock. If you have any mods like factory PPK, flash tunes, downpipe or other bolt ons, try NGK with proper gap will be your best choice.

Any recognized brand specifically for your engine will be fine. Bosch, NKG, Champion, etc!

There is always a lot of controversy over plugs, oil, or whatever. Ignore it!

Bumping an ancient thread since I just got done referring to it. I've done a lot of wrenching in the past (owned an eclipse and other cars before it) but it's been nearly a decade since doing anything but change oil. Set the laptop in the garage and paused the video at each step and got to work following it. The 135i is slightly different but not in any ways that would present an issue at all. There are a few videos out there but this one is perfect.

I added my own steps of blowing air into the spark plug holes before the actual plugs came out, and then vacuuming down in there immediately afterwards. Just trying to be sure no dirt got inside during the swap-over.

Used the exact plugs Esteban mentioned just above. Purchased from Bimmerworld since they had the faster shipping and overall cheaper price but choose your favorite shop. I went w/ the S version of the plug just in case it mattered. Car's been great with them so I kept doing what worked. If you see cheap prices on the S's, they probably aren't S's. I asked a few shops if that's what they were really selling at the lower price, to please check their actual inventory, and they were always non-S plugs. I can't say if it actually matters.

They arrived pre-gapped around .028". Since the ones that came out were around .030" with wear, I figured they probably started around that same .028" when installed at the factory and so I left them, to keep doing what worked.

Replaced the coil packs at the same time. Delphi came out so Delphi went back in. No known issues but they aren't that much and I was already in there. I don't normally replace working components but at 10 years old it seemed like a good thing to do together. Hope that's actually the case and it wasn't a waste of money / one more thing for the landfill.

In case this helps anyone. Not a tough job at all here if you have any experience.

Stared at the PCV a long while, I have an occasional start up squeal I think is a belt, but might not be. Going to save that job until / if I think I really needed it. This tutorial will certainly get me at least half way there.
