X5m vs X6m insurance rates

Anybody know why X6m is a lot more to insure then an x5m? I have got a few quotes and the X6m is a lot more with every company.

Which company? I just got a quote from Progressive for $180 a month, but I have one speeding ticket. Company I am with now is around $300 a month for two cars.

When I had my X5M, I was paying roughly $150 a month with high coverage with Pemco.

Probably because of the way I drive. Sorry. I'm setting a bad example.

zip code/location had a major influence on insurance rates as well.

Don't know about the difference between the X5M and X6M, but I can say with State Farm the difference between the X5 50i and X5M is only $18/mo more.

Random thought - maybe they classify it as a coupe??

$2636 for both the F85 and 991.1 GTS annually at Geico for my wife and I (above average coverage across the board)

Want a weird one. My m4 is cheaper to insure than my x6 3.5. That was a shocker to me.

I pay $2400/year for my X6M, NYC borough with Progressive and the highest coverage they offer. Clean license and I'm probably in the old age bracket.

Exactly! That's crazy! For me geico is like $10 cheaper then progressive but still way more then an x5m or m5.

I'm in South Florida with an umbrella policy and max coverage and I pay substantially less than that for one car. You are getting the NY penalty....

jesus christ ... you guys have some realy high rates! $98/month for my F85. No tickets (in a few years), full coverage, $500 deductible, max coverage allowed in NJ. Age 32, Male.

I feel sorry for you guys paying $4k per year. I don't pay that much to insure all 4 of my cars and motorcycle. (I guess homeowners and umbrella discount helps a little)

What company are you using? But that's the thing f85 is substantially cheaper to insure then f86, I don't understand it. I quoted an X6m with full coverage and $1000 deductibles and I got about $1600 for 6 months. The x5m was like $1000. I haven't had any tickets or accidents in over a decade and I'm 36. Geico claims the parts are more for the X6m, which is bull. I don't know how they rate these things.

For reference, in IL my X5 50i with a $500 deductible through SF is $498 every 6 months. They quoted the X5M with the same coverage at $516 every 6 months. It does help that we have a bunch of cars (business vehicles too) under a single policy...but damn, can't believe some of these number you guys are throwing out. It is insane that some of you are getting charged that much.

Geico ... wasn't interested in the F86 due to needing the space for my 2 year old's stuff ... so i never really explored insuring that model

Switched to Geico from NJ Manufacturer's insurance last fall. Only shopped around since we moved to a larger house and NJM wanted to insure it for more than 2x the fair market value of the home, which made the premium jump to $5k per year for homeowners! retarded! So, I just switched all my policies (except professional liability policies) to Geico. Just received my renewal in the mail today ... F85 dropped to $74 per month!

We have a 2017 F34, 2016 F85, 2017 VW Tiguan, 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport & 2013 Harley Davidson Night Rod Special. All motor vehicles are under $4k total per year (only basic coverage on the jeep as I only use it to snow plow the driveway)

Progressive 590 6 months with max coverage, of course it's combined with multi-vehicles and homeowner discount. Being #1 progressive platinum agent in the area didn't help much though lol

It must be something new. I went from 2008 X5 to a 2010 X6 and the rate was the same. The difference between my 2010 50i and 2013 M was just a few dollars. We get hosed in NYC. Rates were so much cheaper with NJM when I lived in NJ

NJM seems to not be cheapest in NJ anymore ... ever since Sandy homeowners and auto have gone way up
