maps not updating automatically

Hey guys,

Just curious if someone here has had the same issue. My car was redelivered (after ED) in the beginning of August 2016 and since then, has had the map version 2016-2. It's supposed to do an OTA update at least twice a year from what I've read, yet mine never has and the update button in the nav settings is grayed out. I have the enhanced Bluetooth if that makes a difference.

Any idea if there is a way to force the update? I've even called BMW and the only response I've gotten is "it'll do it automatically". For the people with a 2016 M3/M4, what version are you guys on?

I've done it but, Hendrick BMW updated me to the lastest maps for free when I asked what was going on. Waiting to see if this quarters maps come in OTA.

I did that right when I got the car. Checked the other day and the settings are still the same but still no update.

My 2017 (delivered in sept of 2016) also came preloaded with 2016-2. I got a regional OTA update to 2016-3 sometime in Nov/Dec. Nothing since. My dealer said they will update it when I bring it in for maintenance.

The OTA pushes seem useless when it's only regional. A complete update when you go in for service once a year makes more sense.

My 2017 M4 also never updated on its own OTA. I had to take it to the dealership to get it updated to 2017.1 -GCC Maps for Middle East

I have ConnectedDrive services and what not. Doesn't seem to work
