Question About Valentine One, Savvy, BMW OBD Sensing Alarm & MY '17 F8X

So I will be installing my V1 in my car soon and will be using a hard wire install - either from the fuse box or using the Savvy interface at the OBD port (I don't have a desire to use the mirror tap method). My question is specifically about using the V1 Savvy interface and the BMW OBD Sensing alarm system. My preference right now is to use the Savvy interface.

V1's site states that BMWs have compatibility issues with using the Savvy plugged in to the OBD port and triggering the alarm system due to the OBD Sensing alarm feature. However, research here on the forums indicates that some new BMWs have this feature, while others don't. It appears that those with MY15 & MY16 F8X cars don't have an issue with using Savvy. I have also heard rumors that V1 has possibly updated their Savvy hardware to fix this interface issue, but have not been able to get confirmation.

I know there were several hardware and software changes in the MY17 F8X cars. So my question is, are there any of you out there using the Savvy V1 interface (the latest version) on MY17 cars without issue? I don't want to buy it if it won't work.

Thanks!

My M4 isn't a 2017 (April 2016 build) but I can confirm that my Savvy has worked fine since it was installed in July last year. I saw that issue on Valentine's website when I ordered mine but it doesn't appear to affect my car. I would have thought that if Valentine was going to update the Savvy they would have done it by now. Have you tried calling Valentine?

Haven't tried to call them yet. Just going by the info on their site, which looks like the only marquee that has an issue with their newest version of the Savvy is BMW (and electric vehicles). If BMW is phasing in the OBD Sensing alarm functionality on different models, it would not surprise me if BMW introduced this on the MY17 F8X since there were quite a few hardware and software changes between MY16 and MY17.
