iPhone/Bluetooth pairing issues. OMFG.....

Anybody having major bluetooth pairing issues with their iPhone? When I get in my car the bluetooth pairs with my phone and acts as if a phone call is coming in, muting the audio output from the radio and showing my phone number on the iDrive screen along with a timer, presumably timing the length the the "phone call". However, no phone call is occurring. I can't find any way to disconnect the phantom call, either from the phone or through iDrive, so the only way to disconnect it is to turn my phone off (which immediately un-mutes the audio through the iDrive and I can hear the music again). I then have to restart the phone, and then re-pair the phone to bluetooth through iDrive (it doesn't work if I try to re-pair it through the phone).

Worse, this had been an intermittent issue, happening about one in 8 times I got in the car. I mentioned the issue to my service advisor when the car was in the shop for something else, and they updated the system software for the car, and now the issue occurs EVERY SINGLE TIME I get in the car, and sometimes 2 or 3 times on the same drive. Freaking maddening.

My phone is an iPhone 6, OS 10.2.1. I have tried deleting my bluetooth profile for the car from the phone, and deleting the bluetooth profile for the phone from the car, and then starting from scratch as if it is a new phone. This didn't fix the issue.

Anybody else experiencing this? Any solutions?

I have encountered a few bluetooth issues since I upgraded to the iPhone 7+

I have deleted the phone from the car and re-paired it several times. That seems to work for a while... and then it will randomly stop working again. One time I tried to make a phone call and it locked up my iPhone so bad that I had to "soft reset" the phone. I just started plugging my phone into the USB port and that seems to work much better.

I had a similar problem with my 535 a few weeks ago with my iPhone 7. My I picked up my M3 last week the genius had me change this setting... General - Accessibility - Call Audio Routing to Bluetooth Headset. She had seen this on the genius forum. Without changing this is can also cause your iDrive to start rebooting itself every 5 min which also happened with my 535.

IPhone 6 and no issues. Do you use BT audio? Because I don't. I don't do any texting either. But calling, getting into car while on a call, getting out and all associated transfers work great

Yep it has happened to me too...when you get into the car it is like it dials itself and that is it....just stays there and you cannot do a thing with the car or phone. So far it has happened about 5 times in 8 mths and have had 3 drive reboots. I will take a look at the settings. If you make this change does it affect anything else? iPhone 7+and call routing is set to auto from default

I am having the same issue - but it's even a little worse on my end.

I have the apple USB cord that I used to charge the phone and play music for the first few days I had the car (I got it a little over a week ago). Then the car decided it wasn't gong to play music through USB and I had to use Bluetooth instead. Now while the name of my iPhone shows up in the audio section for both USB and Bluetooth, the car doesn't play music from either.

My iPhone is a 7 and is on iOS 10.3.

So confused - why won't it just play music from the standard apple app like it did the first few days ?!?!?
