Help with a BMW error code
If anyone has this info available, could you please give me the details on the error:
Advanced Telematics Module - 03178A I've had problems with this module in the past and would like to know specifically what this fault is. Thanks. |

I'm on the wrong laptop right now otherwise I'd fire up ISTA and tell you, but the best advice perhaps is to find ISTA+ aka Rheingold available freely on the fora (perhaps not this forum in particular) and get it installed. It's rather advantageous to have the software the service departments use. :-)

That error code is unknow for a 2016 M3, as reported by ISTA. What tool reported that error code?

I need to just install ISTA. I'm probably wasting time trying to read the errors with bimmerlink. Thanks for the response. |

Hmmm, interesting, even if it was a temporary error, it would still show up! As a matter fact, ISTA fault dB show other TCB faults but not that one!
Just get ISTA and you'll get the real picture. However, even equipped with ISTA, it is sometimes very hard to know the cause of certain errors, and even then, the only eventual action is to go to the dealer if something needs to be replaced. |
