Portland, OR help with Throttle Actuator Replacement
My car has started throwing codes and going into Limp Mode. Looks like its the throttle actuators that need to be replaced.
Was wondering if anyone in, or around, Portland has done the replacement themselves? I found a couple DIYs on here but I havent messed around much with my car. The last time I did anything to my car was installing Orion halos on my E46 M3. If anyone in Portland would be willing to help, or knows a shop that can do it without charging an arm and a leg that would be a great. Thanks |

If you were closer to seattle I'd give you a hand. I just got done fixing mine. If you follow along with the diy guide it's not to complicated.

I tackled this myself with only basic hand-tools in a matter of 4-ish hours. Patience is key, the DIYs out there are pretty damn great guides. Something I might recommend, depending on the mileage of the vehicle is to consider lumping both actuators and the idle control device into the project as the three units are all housed inside the V and removing them together makes re-installation a breeze.
If you're looking for a shop recommendation, AR Auto Service in Lake Oswego is on-point. You'll likely make a shop for life if you choose them |
