Need help: Swift springs and tyre sizes

Hey all. So I have a set of Vorsteiners in 19's coming in now (eyeing a set of Signature wheels next ) and I need to figure out what tyre size to run on my F80 M3 that has Swift springs. I don't want any rubbing (obviously!) or DSC intervention at higher speeds.

The wheel sizes: 19x10 et 25, and 19x11 et 34

I've narrowed my the choices down to RE11's, AD 08R's, and MPSS. Ideally I would like to run a 265/35 in front and a 305/30 in the rear, however I'm completely oblivious as to whether or not there'd be rubbing and what not with the Swift springs.

Can anyone help? I've tried asking in the Swift springs megathread, but to no avail.

Thanks everyone!

My old setup ET25 19x10 front and ET35 19x11 rear worked well on Eibachs. Your current offset sounds pretty good.

I would run 255/35 front and 295/30 rear MPSS. Believe it or not you will end up having more tread or about the same in the rear (resulting in a similar look).

Also the stretch of a 255 on a 10 in wheel would would Change the diameter slightly making it smaller than the rear as a result of the stretch alone. With 31 or 32 psi in front and 32 or 33 psi rear it might even end up being a little more (around .25+ smaller than the rear)..

I've personally owned a 265/305 setup it is definitely aesthetically pleasing and functions great. The setup I am recommending is very similar and should be maybe even more compatible.

I suppose I should state that I want either the RE 11 or the AD08R, but will take the MPSS if the other options don't pan out. I am looking for straight line grip mainly, but decent wet weather traction and tread life. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of the latter two for grip, hence the RE11 and AD08R.

I understand that MPSS typically run less wide than the competition, but are they taller/bigger in diameter? I'm really concerned about rubbing.

Thanks!

The MPSS 295/30 has a 11.6" tread width whereas the 305 RE11 only has an 11.1" tread width. So you should have more than enough rubber. Keep the fronts a generic black wall 255/35.

OP: I suggest 265/35/19 and 295/35/19. You'll have enough room to fit a credit card through.

What about the AD08R? I am seriously considering not even trying the Vorsteiners and selling them so I can grab your wheels at this point

Is there an aftermarket suspension setup that would allow me to run a 305? The Swifts are stiff as hell, and I'm considering other options at this point.. especially if it opens up tyre options. I'm just looking for a modest drop at this point.

Thanks Jimmy!

Coilovers/Spring Suspension clearance has nothing to do with the rear fitment. On the rear, springs and perch are out of the way. You can do cambering though. -2.1 degree rear should clear 305 street tires (Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R are super wide, no way they'll fit). To fit 305 Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R, you need 20x11 ET42.

I see! I should've done my homework on that. I always thought suspension played a role in tyre choices for some reason.

I would've gone for a 265/35 and 295/35, but the only option offered in those sizes are MPSS, and since you say that AD08's are extremely wide, I'm now only looking at the RE-11. The RE-11 is offered in 265/35 and 285/35, is this viable? Or should I look into a 285/30 in the rear as the guy in the thread with Rotiform's did?

In regards to negative camber - I'm all for it, but my understanding is that negative camber slightly hinders straight line performance as there's less contact surface. If this is the case, I'm assuming the extra 10mm would still outweigh the negative effects of dialing in negative camber?

Thanks again Jimmy, you're a cornucopia of vital information.

Suspension clearance play a role upfront, but not the rear. The rear coilover perch are out of the way.

As for camber, it helps with cornering performance but not great for straightline grip/tire wear for daily driving.
