Just picked up Alfa Romeo Giulia QV VBM
Just picked up my Alfa
Currently own: E90 M3 ZCP 6MT AW Slicktop E46 M3 6MT CB Other options i was considering: F80 M3 ZCP C63s AMG ATS-V GTR(not in the same class up but it was on the list) IF i had i got with any of the other, i would have been disappointed for sure. Not bc of the other cars being disappointing, but this one is just amazing. Let me be clear - no love lost for BMW but new found love for the Alfa Romeo. Sorry if posting in wrong section

Love it. Watching this model closely to see how owners critique it. Crazy power/torque/performance. Craftsmanship, TBD.
Keep thread updated periodically please. |

Thanks!! No doubt. I've already kind of compared the E90 and Alfa on many different fronts but i'll post up a bit later. The national championship is on! :P

I cross shopped this with my F80 M3, and I wasn't willing to take the risk of owning an Alfa out of warranty since I planned on keeping whatever car I grabbed for at least 6-7 years.
Keep us updated indeed! I am curious to see how the interior will hold up, the transmission, etc. Also, post more pics!

Interior of course so far is built really well. Some downsides but mainly perks. Carbon fiber all over the car. Engine phenomenal so far but still breaking in. I plan on selling prior to warranty expiration, as of now id get into another lol. 8ZF is absolutely nuts for an auto. Makes no sense. Pics will come! Been busy getting everything in order on top of work!

Congrats!
Excuse my ignorance, what are the specs on this car? I know it sounds amazing, as I have heard it on some youtube review. But have not really read up on the specs. |

Definitely very curious to hear how the ownership experience is with these. I hope they do a better job than Maserati did with the Ghibli because that thing is beautiful but a complete disaster from a reliability standpoint. The Alfa looks amazing and the numbers it produces are just awesome!! Congrats and keep us posted

Congrats!
You think you'll miss the 6MT or were you ready for a change anyway as some of those other cars you considered do not come with a 6MT either? Curious how long those "R compounds" will last

Lmao that wink - you know with tht 60 wear rating they're gonna last a whole month XD. one of my friend said they're going to evaporate. I'd def go with something with a better tread rating next time. but i dont want to sacrifice perfomance but i dont take the nurburgring on the way to work either. i heard a rumor of new supersports coming out, id consider those.

Congrats my friend! She is a great looking car. I am keenly interested in your E90 comparo as I am contemplating the move to the QV as well. Most importantly, does it provide the same intangible level of excitement/engagement in everyday spirited driving.

Congrats!!
Would be great to hear your experiences after a few months living with it - very keen to understand what after-sales service is like as well as reliability. Out of interest - how do you find the auto-transmission? Is it as snappy as the DCT in the M3/4? It's a pity they don't do a 2 door version - maybe in the next model. |

I can't quite figure out how I feel about the front end. The rest of it is good looking though.
Congrats to both of you. |

@Ian1973.....the Alfa snout with the deep V is a trademark much like the BMW Kidney Grills...if you look at those over the evolution of BMW design...they went from narrow...to wider, to squat...with each platform change so did the kidney grills...just look from E30, to E36 , E46 etc etc....
I'm still a fan of BMW M.....but I wanted a change and some of the new stuff they were doing was not to my liking...I hope the Alfa ends up being everything I am expecting...otherwise...what do you buy?? LOL
