Any difference between 15,16,2017

Any difference between the years on the x5m?
Anyone have Bluetooth connect issues?

I have 2011 x5m now - I love it - assuming I should love the F85 X5M the sam??

No bt issues with my 2016 No major changes except the upgrade to the 2017 idrive stuff. Most manufacturers make build QC improvements year to year....

There are BIG differences between the 2011 and the current X5 M.

Mpg is way down, some 20%.
The 6 gear is now an 8 gear transmission.
Power and torque increased significantly.
Navigation, LED lights are improved or new.
Many more refinements adding pleasure to drive.

IMHO the 2015 & later X5 M is a far better car.

Hey Bob! I love my F85 X5M! If you love your 2001 X5M you will LOVE the F85!!! Time to upgrade!

Like others have said, probably the major difference between 2015 and 2017 is the new iDrive screen.

I don't have any Bluetooth connection issues.

It's you! Haha.

Having an 8th gear allows us to get 11 mpg as opposed to just 7! That is, if your just using comfort mode...but who does that?

+1 If you like your 2011, the F85 is a really nice step forward. The performance is marginally-to-incrementally better on all fronts, steering is not as "feelsome" as the old hydraulic unit, but it's far more precise because it rejects a lot of road forces. The F85 brakes feel lethargic compared to the E70's brakes. They both stop with the same intensity, and about the same distance, but you really have to get on the F85 compared to the E70. Probably the pad compound. Audio (B&O) is much better than the old DIRAC, interior is a MASSIVE step up, though the seats are not as comfy IMO. Surround cameras, full color HUD, 4.0-5.0 iDrive, mood lighting...a lot of little things. One feature I thought would be silly but is turning out to be pretty amazing is the FLIR camera. It's always on and is setup to detect animals and people on the road. I've already avoid 2 deer at 80+ mph on the back roads in texas because a "deer ahead" warning came up on the HUD with enough time for me to look behind me and then slam on the brakes to avoid hitting.

The 21" rides about the same as the old 20". The 20" F85 rides nice. I think a lot of this has to do with the F85 not using run flats. Fuel economy seems about the same, which is odd because BMW claims it's 20% more efficient. The old E70 is screwed together better. My F85 has a lot of squeaks and rattles compared to my E70, and is already in the shop for a major issue that will require specialists to fly in to deal with. At TWS and COTA, not that this is why you'd buy it, it's about 5 seconds faster than the old one, though less balanced in the rain for some reason. i'd chalk up a lot of this lap time to the MPSS tires vs. the old run flats with truck performance rubber. They both tow about the same. F85 seems to get a bit better mileage towing, maybe 1mpg or so.

15 vs 16 vs 17 comes down to packaging and iDrive as mentioned already. The 2016 options were packaged slightly different, but ultimately equivalent. iDrive 5 with car-play in the 2017 is very nice since I'm more in the camp of wishing OEMs would just give up with the MMIs.

I have 2015. Grey/red. I really think it's the 21" wheels. Year is not much of an excuse though, The X5 has been around since 2014 model.
