Recommendations on E90 M3 Color Combo
I'm ordering my E90 M3 on Monday, 14 Apr, and I'm still undecided on colors. I thought I would ask the advice of the M3 afficianadoes before I make the final call.
I was very interested in Silverstone II until I saw it firsthand at a dealer today. The car was in the bright sun, and it looked like metallic powder blue. I now understand why SSII and Fox Red are not one of BMW's recommended combinations. Anyway, thanks for your recommendation. The good news is all of these combos rock, so I can't lose. |

You're never going to find a consensus agreement here... just please, for the love of all that is good and holy, DON'T get AW
All kidding aside though, I'm starting to think that Melbourne is an overlooked and really beautiful color. If I had to order again, I might get MR over FR or BB in place of my Sparkling Graphite over FR. |

Jerez Black and FR would be my first choice, but personally, I can't handle another black car unless it's a weekend garage queen. And black on black in Texas is like driving a BBQ grill until the AC beats it down.
I was settled on SS2/FR until I saw it in person, and like you, have second thoughts, it looks great, but my first impression wasn't entirely positve. AW/FR looks slightly too pretty and my wife thinks a bit feminine for a muscular car, I can see her point, though the combo also looks great. Though lots of coupe are going this way I think sedan buyers in general will be more reserved, so it may not be as common on an E90. So yeah, I'm reconsidering M. Red/Black, it's a classic, though I might tire of a red car. At least MR is a less acidic red, so it's got some subtle play without looking like a darker red, as I'd expect to see on a Pontiac. Maybe AW/Black, or SS2/Black...but I also love SG/FR, except for when it gets that violet cast to it, not sure I can live with a sometimes-purple car on a FR interior. |

none....
I voted AW/Fox Red, but i personally am not a big Fox Red leather fan, and most of your options had it.

I have on order a M-DCT Space Gray Metallic with Silver Novillo Leather and Carbon trim. I don't think I've seen anyone else order this combo. I've also gone with the 18's as I think they look better with Space Gray.

Get an M-specific color and cherish the exclusivity.
