Nav screen is BLANK!!!! Anyone else
I have a 2016 M4, about 10k miles on it, and noticed today that my NAV screen is blank. Radio controls are not working, also my backup camera and sensors are not functioning!!! I scheduled an appointment for the 12/16, but between now and then this is REALLY going to bug me!!!
Anyone else experience this? Should I let the car sit for a minute, and try to reboot it?? |

I had this happen to my black M4 one time. I just turned the car completely off waited a minute and turned it back on and it was fine. Never had a issue ever again.
Do that, if that doesn't work, take it to your dealer

The soonest I can get my car in is 12/16, with my luck everything will be back to normal by then and the service techs won't find anything!! |

In the meantime unhook your battery for about 10 minutes then hook it back up. That will do a hard system reboot and should fire the screen back up unless something is truly fried.

This actually happened to me today. It's the second time in a few weeks. I assumed it has something to do with getting a front-facing camera that interfaces with the iDrive retrofitted on my car though. It never happened prior to that.

My iDrive Nav screen restarted once early this morning and was OK throughout my 1-hr commute to work. On my commute home, it would restart every 2-5 minutes. I did the following to troubleshoot the problem.
1) Changed the Nav settings (no effect, problem persisted) 2) Turned of the screen (no effect, problem persisted) 3) Turned off audio (no effect, problem persisted) 4) Turned off BT on my phone - no more restart! After #4, I restarted my phone, removed the paired BMW loaner that I once drove, and reconnected to my car. It didn't restart for the remaining of my drive home. I am guessing BT (either my phone or iDrive) had something to do with my problem. I'll report back after a few days. You might want to turn off BT next time your car does that and see if the problem goes away. ps: I usually miss the M3 startup logo on the screen but after today, I've seen enough of it. |

Happened to me a few days ago. This was the third time. Lock the car and wait 15 minutes said the Genius. It worked.
I'll take the car to the dealer next week to update the firmware. Mine is October 2015 build f80.

I just took my car in for this.. they cant figure it out. Although, they said they found a permanent error on my passenger side front cam... so they think it may be related to that. They will be replacing the camera.
Only bad thing is my coding is gonna get wiped. So i will need to get coded again... i just hope my coding isnt whats causing the problem.

The coding for LED lights eventually gave me an error that required my SA to update my car's firmware completely and erase my coding too. Speaking of which I want to update my firmware so I get my memory gong back :P
