New release: MACHT SCHNELL - BOOST METERING BLOCK

Any S55 owner interested in serious boost increases has run into a difficulty in getting a standalone vacuum/boost reading from the engine. As with most modern engines, the S55 does not have spare vacuum nipples which can easily be tapped for a boost reference, making things difficult when the S55's boost output is dramatically increase. Now Macht Schnell has created an inexpensive, easy to install solution.

The Macht Schnell Boost Metering Block is a bolt-on installation without the need for drilling or tapping into factory charge pipes. Comes complete with O-rings and extended-length screws for simple installation in minutes. The Boost Metering Block is essential for boost readings while on the dyno, or for connecting an analog Boost pressure/vacuum gauge on the dyno. When not in use, the included rubber cap will properly seal the port off safely.

I believe you lose the coin tray. The above picture has a tray above the cupholders (some f8x members had that as well).

Correct! The cup holders are technically retained, but the gauges will not clear all cups.

Dig it! Just wish they would have included a 90* degree elbow for the vacuum inlet in the kit so that you can easily route the vacuum line back towards the firewall.

Good point, as I thought the same thing. The only issue with the 90*m elbow is that it's probably hard to make it point in the correct direction/angle after screwing it into the metering block which appears to be billet.

EDIT: I think there are "swivel" type of 90* pneumatic elbows, but they're pretty robust

It's not really an issue. It's been done before. I had a 90* elbow for the boost gauge in my Evolution 8. Just need the correct thread size. A little teflon tape on the threads wouldn't hurt either.

On a side note, this Mach Schnell piece seems to be a rebranded version of a generic that is available on AliExpress for $12.39. You can also find them on eBay for around $25.

Looks like you should be able to mount "upside-down" and have the outlet pointing down in the same direction as the harness.

I may need to buy one of those!
