Can you play all songs by artist?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I've done a forum search and come up empty handed. If I am just using my iPhone, I can choose an artist in my music library and shuffle all songs by that artist. If I try the same thing using iDrive or CarPlay, there is no option that I can see to do this. Am I missing something, or is this not possible?

Thanks!

Yes, when viewing stored music, select "By Artist", and simply select your selected artist. It puts a filter on the music to be played. To remove, simply navigate back to "By Artist" and select All.

This doesn't work when using the iPhone through either iDrive or CarPlay. Selecting the artist takes you to the list of albums. You can shuffle play an album, just not an artist.
