2 years ago today, I got my M4.
Two years ago today, about 8:30 in the morning, I got a call from my CA that my M4 had arrived overnight and that he expected it to be ready for me the following Monday. It was a Saturday, and I told him I wanted to see it. I grabbed my Canon 7D and drove down to Niello Elk Grove, about 20 miles from my house. When I got there, they had it in a corner of the shop where I could look and it and take photos.
While I was looking at the car my car my CA was told that the service tech who does most of the work on M cars was there, (He normally did not work Saturdays.) and could prep my car for delivery and have it ready for me in the afternoon. As neither my CA nor I were not expecting to be ready until the following Monday, I did not bring the title to my 335i. So I went home the get it and my checkbook and returned to Niello. After lunch we finished up the paperwork and the car was finished by 4:30. He went of over the features of the car, showing me how various things worked and took a short test drive. By 5:00, I was on the road with my new M4 for my 20 mile drive back home. After 2 years and 15,600 miles I'm still loving it, and I plan on keeping it a lo-o-o-ong time. I took the first six pics that day years ago today. The last two were taken last month at EuroSunday. |

Flashbacks. Those memories. I don't know how you wanted days though. I'm impatient as hell. My current M4 arrived at 2am on 10/28/16, and I was behind the wheel by 5pm the same day. My previous M4 arrived at 9am on some day in July 2014 (...it was a Saturday, because I remember having to call StrasseSport and ask them to lower my car on a Sunday), and I was behind the wheel by 6pm that day.

Your car looks like it transitioned from orange to a red orange within the 2 years. I'm gonna say paint fade... . Should've taken care of that metallic paint job. Lol. Love the color.

The worst part of the story was the fact that it took 4 months minus 1 day from the date I ordered it to the date I got delivery. The wait sucked. But I got the car just the way I wanted it. I haven't seen any of the other colors, including BMW Individual colors that I would rather have. The only issue I have is occasional surging on acceleration in 1st gear. Otherwise the car has been trouble free. My car is a keeper. |

I'd probably have more on mine if I didn't but this 4 months later: my 2015 Honda Goldwing 40th Anniversary Edition.

I love the SO color. I was recently given a choice to purchase a SO with the same options minus lighting package but decided to wait for the Individual paint of Ferrari Red. You said 4 months and 1 day for SO...it's already been 2 months already for me and the build is to start in Jan and the arrival was estimated for beginning of March or end of Feb. That will be about 5 to 6 months, so you definitely know how nuts I'm going.
I'm so excited for my car and just like yours, this will be a keeper for me as well. I'm glad you enjoy your car even after this long of ownership! |

Me too
Had mine a little over two years. Still love to drive it every day I can. Only problem is heading toward my third set of rear tires at 18000 miles. Lol.

+1 The 6MT in my M4 is the best I've ever driven. I've had manuals since my 1969 Mercury Cougar I bought new when I graduated from college.
