iDrive: what does this % mean?

Anybody have any idea about the percentile displayed on iDrive? What does that 80% mean? It was like 30% and kept rising until it got stopped at 80. Your input will be appreciated.

Looks like an OTA map update progress meter. Mine did that over the summer at some point, then I got a prompt indicating the Nav system would need to be rebooted to install the newest version.

Has anyone had this most recent map update not finish updating? Mine started downloading a week or 2 ago and it still hasn't finished. It first got stuck at 80% for a few days, then I saw it get up to 92%, a day later it dropped down to 72% and slowly climbed back to 80%. Basically it seems to keep fluctuating between 70%-90%. I've had no issues in the past year with any map update before this.

Mine took about a week to complete. I only drive about 80 miles per week, so I dont spend a lot of time in the car though.

Is there a way to check to see if the car needs an OTA update?

According to the website, the updates occur about 4 times a year and occur automatically. You cannot generate one. You only get free automatic updates for the area in which you are located. However, you can purchase a full update from your dealer.

I think you have to enter the region you want updated on the BMW Connected Website.
