Possible first magazine review of M DCT tomorrow
I have it on good authority that the latest edition of the weekly UK car magazine, Autocar, released tomorrow (Wed 2nd April), will feature a group test between the C63 AMG, Lexus and the M3. I don't know if it will be a DCT equipped M3, but maybe someone in the UK could look out for it.

Its possible...could just be a sports sedan comparison....
I would expect to see MDCT very soon but I am pretty sure BMW used the Cabrio as its press car for the DCT tranny...not sure though Jason

I was hoping for the same Mofomat, but unfortunately it's a 6MT SSII with black interior and 19s.
I must say there are a few styling features on the E90 that are much better resolved than the coupe, in particular the larger opening in the side vent and the cleaner rear bumper. I saw an SG E90 on 19s in Wokingham the other weekend and it looked superb! Anyway, i've just finished reading the article, and you'll be happy to hear that the E90 finishes first, by the thinnest of margins, followed by the C63 and IS-F. Criticisms for the E90 were again the high set driver's seat and thick steering wheel, with plus points being the damping, more driver involvement and more mechanical, precise engine. "And while the M3's engine cannot match the C63's for brutality or low-speed burble, there is something more mechanical, more precise about the way that the BMW delivers its power. The noise it produces when closing in on 8300rpm is less instantly satisfying, but goes deeper into the soul" Of course we know that most of the extra torque is wasted in the Merc as soon as the road gets twisty, as it can't put it's power down. |

It's all a matter of preference because I feel like the opposite is true. Actually, I think the change in details fits each of the bodystyles they are attached to quite well.

I am getting the coupe, the sedan is ok but rear lights are terrible. The rear overhangs appear shorter on the E90 which imo looks better than the coupe

For those of you not that familiar with what to real differences between MT, SMG and DCT, EVO magazine have an article on the ins and outs. A big help to some of you.
http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/21...onths_evo.html Unfortunately you will have to wait until next week to read it on-line or otherwise buy the magazine. |
