I remember you had an ED thread back when you picked up the car, correct? Any particular reason you are selling at this time?

I keep getting thoughts on selling up too...

I realistically only drive mine 4 or 5 times a month, the rest of the time my wife just drives it slowly as its our main car and I work 2 miles from home.

Have thought about getting an X5 40d or something. Love the M3 but the power is basically a waste on UK roads and I'm constantly paranoid about car park damage, theft etc

My X5 35d has become one of my favorite cars since i picked it up 4 weeks ago. Been getting 27 average mpg with diesel being at 2.50/gallon!! Ride is soo smooth.

It all started with one of my close friends got a Silverado 1500 double cab high country with 6.2L truck

He was once considered a M3 too

That car is sooo practical, capable of doing a lot of things yet, its luxurious too Hes paying as much as I pay for my M4 but gets more out of it

M4 is still an attractive car in other things... I just sold it to just be able to get what i really want

We will see

You can go all RATED MMMM on us. He was the premier individual guy on the east coast, took a new job, sold his Java M3, and went into full on TRD crazyman mode..

That's a fun mode to be in...did the same thing when I switched from my E93 M3 into an FJ. Super capable, drove pretty well, and was almost unstoppable off-road.

Could you put up with it if you didn't have your M4 though?

Thing is a 40d with spec over here is more than an M3/4 anyways so there would be no financial gain. Just a comfier more relaxing driving experience.

I personally just have an 08 4Runner and an M4. Best of both worlds

Hi Colin,
We are enjoying our 435D X Drive very much, and i can tell you its pretty damned quick, and competent. It gathers speed so effectively with its 460lb/ft of torque, and grips for Great Britain with its X Drive, we are showing 44mpg in everyday driving, and it was under £40k brand new with all the spec etc. Maybe something worth considering ?.

I had a Tacoma before getting a Tundra recently and really enjoyed driving it. Wanted to get a full size with all the extra interior room.

Hi Simon hope your well!

Glad to hear your enjoying the 435, I drove a 535d lately and it left me pretty cold. Which is why I worry about the same engine in a bigger heavier X5. Perhaps I need to adjust my driving style to suit the Diesel engine and enjoy making effortless Progress.

What also scares me is that I couldn't leave the M3 alone and added an exhaust for more noise and drama, what's it going to be like in an almost silent diesel.

I've also put my Clio V6 up for sale, it's SORN again now and has done a mere 78 miles this summer. Think I'm just having a garage re-jig!

Hi Colin,
I agree with your sentiments entirely. Yesterday was the first time i battered this car, and i was very impressed. The way it gathers speed, and speed of gearshift is impressive. Granted, it isnt as exciting as the M3/4, but it does have other qualities, like being so smooth and wafty, and with torque that is able to take down most things. Saying all that, im looking at another M4/C63S Coupe for myself again .

Just sold the M3 last week for a 981 Cayman... it's sooooo slow in a straight line compared to the tuned (jb4) M3 but it's a blast to drive; especially since it's 6spd with passive x73 sport suspension

It's a sr5 4x4 crewmax... Truck and mods under 50k, nice buying parts for non m vehicle as you feel you are getting more value for what you pay in my opinion

I am highly considering selling or trading my S3 and getting into either a TRD Pro Tacoma or a Limited/Platinum Tundra. Love Toyota trucks.

Would I ever get rid of the M for a truck as my only car? No. It's nice to have for utility and practicality, but I need boost in my life! Trucks are too slow... unless it's a crazy modded Cummins or Duramax!
