Cost of the install of Coilover suspension for Z4M

Would like to know how much you spend on the install of your coilover system, and anything to watch out or replace...TIA

it is a little annoying to have specific forums for specific things and people don't follow the guide lines. lets get rid of all the different sub forums and make ONE forum called "Z4 Stuff" and you can post whatever you want...

Or we could call this one the Off Topic forum and that might deter some people.

I don't like how you have to sift through 30 off topic threads to get to an information one of bimmerfest so I like this setup.

We just need a mod that will move them and then people won't have to complain.

+ 1 Exactly....

If I want tech info, why go sifting through tons of general yak yak stuff....
Once you get used to on topic posting it works great...

back on topic

laidback you can either DIY it. Not very difficult. There are many vids on youtube on M3 DIY coilover suspension install and the Z4M is practically the same. But if you want to get it installed i know my guy charges aroung $300. So your looking around that figure

We didn't need mods before, people knew better. Some people just think the General forum gets them more attention for stuff they want to know asap.

But what's the point when you're posting in general and people that look dont know? If its in the proper technical section, at least people who know will answer.

Case in point:
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthre...77#post2373277

Posted in the correct section, someone answered. (Yeah, I'm being a dick.)

Just my $0.02
You might want to recheck that statement. If you're working on a roadster, I guarantee you the rear is harder than the front.
Coupes, you guys are lucky in this sense. Getting to the rear shocks only requires lifting up the carpets. On a roadster, you have to dismantle part of the rear shelf that holds the roof before you can even get close to it.

Suspension is fairly easy to do on these cars, no air tools or spring compressors required. Here is the write-up I did when I installed my KWV3s to give you an idea:

Thanks guys for the valuable info on the suspension...

Sometimes I get lost as to what to post on the main forum...this forum has a different setup than others...so I apologize for the confusion..

Great DIY write up as usual Bill..

Did you by any chance take any before and after clearance measurements with the KWV3s??
On some coilovers there is less clearance than the OE suspension.
Just wondered what you may have found.

TIA

Doesn't seem like Bill speeds much though... Got enough equipment? Have you gotten a ticket will all that stuff yet, or has it been smooth sailing after you for the laser thing?

Thanks for the comments guys. The only clearance issues I had post KW V3 involved my ZCP wheels, I ended up having to get spacers to make them closer to the offset of a CSL wheel and have not had any rubbing issues since the KWs were adjusted when the front end was aligned.

I have always had scanners/radar detectors because I don't want to pay any more "tax" than I have to I had my Lotus (LOUD exhaust) for over a year and never got pulled over. I got a laser ticket the second week I had the M. I still can't bring myself to drill holes in my bumper and am thinking through the laser jammer install- maybe when business travel slows down a little and I catch up on some other projects I will have a chance to revisit.
