black 437s

I am putting together the final specs on an f82 with either the black or silver 437s and carbon brakes. Can anybody give me any insight as to the maintenance of the black wheels re: swirls and scratches. Brake dust won't be an issue but unsure about how the gloss black finish will hold up against regular cleaning. Is it more forgiving than the type of black paint used on the actual body of cars?

TBH it is pretty susceptible to swirling. And i use wheel woolies with Adams Wheel Cleaner and Soap...

Looking back, i would've coated them with CQuartz right away

I have black 437s with CCB and they don't need much cleaning with CCBs. Most of the time just soap and water with no scrubbing unless something from the road sticks on them.

Edit: I see OP is in Canada, so I'd expect them to get pretty dirty in winter unless a second set of wheel are used for snow tires.

Fairly easy to clean but the rust buildup from the rotors is a pain in the ass! They look sick for about an hour until the rust from the rotors coat the black rims.

Yes! You're correct. Sorry didn't catch the part that you were getting carbon brakes. Steel rotors rust so bad

Few swirls and light scratches on mine a year in.

They still look great though!
