Finally Getting into an M3!!

So the day has finally come! I'm picking up my 2008 M3 Convertible/Alpine White/6-Speed this Sunday and couldn't be more excited. I've had multiple BMWs now that have led me to this point (never thought I would get a convertible but couldn't pass up the deal). I have attached some pics below, but wanted to see if anyone was local and could help me out with some coding. I already bought the F10 M5 shifter to swap out the original, and am considering Alpine White reflectors. I reached out to some local guys who have helped people out in the past but wasn't able to get anywhere - so if anyone can help out with coding that would be awesome! Here's a short list of what I'll need:

1) Coding
2) OEM Exhaust Mod
3) Alpine White reflectors
4) Alpine White Touch Up Paint (just in case)
5) Winter Wheel setup (like the 219 style) with tires preferably - these I will be in the market for a little later on but if I find something worth grabbing will jump on it

Anyway, that's it for now - would love to meet up on Long Island somewhere! Any help would be greatly appreciated

Very nice, congrats. My first M car was a MW e93 as well, and for a vert they perform pretty well.

First mods I recommend are wrapping the horrible chrome window trim and getting yourself a wind deflector. And then maybe getting the OEM mod done to the exhaust for an amazing sound. Coding and reflectors are definitely on the list as well.

Enjoy the car in good health!

Much appreciated info man...I will absolutely stop by in a few weeks. I'm opening up an office in Garden City so that'll work out well

I looked into the shadow line trim which is kind of expensive, so maybe exploring someone to wrap would make sense. Never thought of the wind deflector which would probably help out since I'm 6'3" lol As for the OEM mod I would definitely be interested in that! Thanks for all the feedback and well wishes, it's all very helpful!!

So after a few days of driving, I am absolutely in love with the car. I am first to volunteer to pick something up and end up taking the most ridiculous roundabout routes to lengthen my drive. I feel like I should get an extended warranty though, and have been quoted an insane range. I know there are a few threads on this, but I feel like everyone pays a lot less than I've been quoted. Any thoughts? Excited about getting some coding done tomorrow and putting in the F10 M5 shifter soon, also should have the wind deflector by end of day today so I'm in good shape! Loving my M3!

Ready to get some coding done but had a few meets fall through. Also have been in touch with people about the OEM exhaust mod. Anyone on Long Island want to meet up so I can actually hear these things in person? Literally everyone advised me to hear the method in person before pulling the trigger, so if there are any takers I'd gladly meet up and buy you a beer!

Welcome and enjoy.
I would invest in the Carly. You can do all the coding, diagnose, etc. Best investment.

There's some guy here selling a exhaust mod for dirt cheap.

I was just looking into the Carly actually, seems pretty legit being that I'll most likely continue owning BMW's. As for the exhaust mod, I've been in touch with him so hopefully that works out. I figured in the meantime if people were around I could hear how it sounds in person before throwing it on the car.

It's about 15-20% louder with no drone. Not as loud as my MPE but loud enough.

P.S. I saw your sig. Had a g37s coupe before this. Lots of infiniti folks jump ship lol

Congrats on the car! We can take care of that whole list for you, I have AW reflectors in stock here and an ACM exhaust mod built out already. Shoot me a message.

Yeah I've done a bunch of research on it, just figured it would make sense to hear them in person. Infiniti was a great car, but not for me - I didn't love it!
