50i & M exhaust - why not symmetrical?
Anyone know why the mid muffler or expansion chamber is different from left to right? Also do the crimps at the rear suspension look like an afterthought?

I think this is something only the BMW engineers can answer with certainty.
Everyone else would just be making guesses... unless they have some automotive background.

I may be wrong, but I think the OP is talking about the pipe layout underneath the body.

no idea... the only thing that sticks out like a sore thumb to me is the exposed muffler can but i just haven't gotten around to painting it.
i was under the vehicle yesterday staring at the exhaust and prepping it for painting and i have no idea what the op is referring to. the exhaust on the 50i looks symmetrical to me and centered. what am i missing here?
