2016 BMW M4 ZCP (Competition) - HEX Tuning Stage ONE - VIDEO and DYNO Content
Yesterday we had the good fortune of having a local owner of a brand new 2016 BMW M4 ZCP who wanted our HEX Tuning software along with some before and after results on our DynoJet 224xLC.
While the ZCP/Competition package comes straight from the factory with more power than the standard M3/M4, along with the cool factor of features like "Start-Up Roar" and "Throttle Overrun", the customer was really after the additional horsepower and torque that our Stage ONE ECU Software makes on these S55 engines. LINK:To learn more about our HEX Tuning ECU and TCU Software, Visit our OFFICIAL THREAD here. (click to jump) Our Premier Southern California Dealer/Installer, Supreme Power Parts, set up the appointment and took car of the labor duties throughout the afternoon. Our own techs would be the ones to strap the car to the dyno and perform the measured runs in sequence: Before software, and again immediately After the installation, without ever removing the car from the dyno. This absolutely helps to ensure the most accurate results as the only variables to change throughout the day would be the ECU software, and a subtle increase in ambient temperature. Here's where we ended up at... BEFORE AND AFTER DYNO RESULTS VIDEO PHOTOS |

So you are looking at +42 WHP and +78.5 WTQ uncorrected over a ZCP. I think that's pretty good. It looks like the extra HP comes in earlier, making for a steeper curve. Stage 1 is advertised as +60-70 WHP and +90-100 WTQ. I presume the difference is ZCP vs standard M3, since ZCP already adds 19 HP.
Excellent pictures! Edit: Was this a DCT or 6MT car? And I assume this was on 91 Octane? |

Ha, it's Vic's car. If anyone has the means to accomplish a 130+ trap, TASTEFULLY done F82, it's him. I admire his gumption to use his financial backing to ensure his new M4 CP is nothing short of a fucking beast with the ability to walk even the fastest of M5/6 owners who "affectionately" call the F8x as KING.
Nice start, Vic. I'm very interested in seeing how much further you take this project.

The PEAK GAINS are very reasonable indeed for a Stage ONE Software on 91 Octane fuel. The MAX GAINS (and the area under the curve) is what really brings that car to life ... MAX Gains: Torque 107ft./lbs. @ 4000rpm (measured as 485 Tuned / 368 Stock) Horsepower 91hp @ 5300rpm (measured as 446 Tuned / 355 stock) It maintains an average of 78hp gain between 4,000-5,300rpm. |

Are there any Transmission tuning left to be done on the ZCP? Im looking at getting a another F80 and might go with a ZCP this time. I like the trans tunes that people have done on the standard F80. Is the trans tuning on the ZCP already at 'Max"?
