Help: Confirm E90 M3 width with mirrors folded
Hello,
Can someone please confirm the width of the e90 M3 with mirrors folded, I am trying to make sure it fits in the single garage door. A quick search returns: 2005 mm mirror to mirror, with mirrors out 1817 mm rear fender to rear fender How much is the overall width reduced by with mirrors folded? Thanks! |

Yeah unfortunately it is what it is, it will be a daily challenge, but trying to figure out exactly what I have to work with.
The garage door width is exactly 2400 mm. That leaves 20cm each side unfolded. If I gain 10+cm each side folded, 30 cm per side makes me feel a lot better. Thanks, M Last edited by scope951; 06-05-2016 at 05:44 PM.. |

Stewie Griffin: [after Stewie becomes the most popular boy at school] Well, Brian, you've lost your bet. I, or rather my alter ego, Zac Sawyer, am currently the most popular boy at James Woods High.
Brian Griffin: Well, Stewie, you got the best of me on this one. Congratulations. I guess you'll be hanging up your wig now? Stewie Griffin: Oh no, Brian, I'm enjoying myself too much. Do you know that I've got a date with Connie D'Amico this Saturday night at Anal Point? Brian Griffin: Ah, I've heard about that place. Stewie Griffin: Really? What's it like? 'Cause I have no idea. Brian Griffin: Well, uh... I suppose if you imagine it like a parking space, that you think, "Gosh, there's no way I'm gonna be able to fit in there." But then you fold in the side-view mirrors and, sure enough, well, look at that. Stewie Griffin: Well, in that scenario, it sounds like I'd rather be the parking space than the car. Brian Griffin: Yeah, that's what I've always guessed. |

I had to step out just now to measure something in my pool and happened to walk by the E90... I measured this for you...
From the driver window to the edge of the mirror, extended, 9.5 inches (sorry my tape measurer is in inches, and I live in Canada, go figure! Lol!). From the driver window to the edge of the mirror, folded, 5 inches. So it looks like you're gaining 4.5 inches per side when you fold the mirrors. Or 114.3 mm per side. Or 229 mm total gain if you fold the mirrors... If that helps. But the question remains, how will you be able to remove the hooker from the trunk in a space so tight?

Isn't 2400mm (roughly 8 Ft) a standard garage door size?

Standard size for a double-car garage door in South Florida is 18 feet, with smaller 2 car garages having a 15 foot opening. Keep in mind that the interior width of the garage is substantially greater than that of the door (in answer to those who wonder how the OP is planning to get in and out of his car).

The hookers don't get to leave the trunk, they live inside of it now And yes the inside of the garage is substantially larger than the door. It's all I get to work with since the double is full. Thanks guys! |

when you fold your mirrors, they dont dissappear or blend into the fender. the maximum you will save will be 5-10 cm on each side.
i would just hang a tennisball from the ceiling of the garage to touch the rain sensor point on the windshield when you park the car. that way you dont have to worry about cars dimensions everytime you park. as soon as the tennisball touches the center of the windscreen, you would know you are in the perfect spot both width and depth. I use that to park the E class back home.
