Memorial Day

First, let me apologize for posting this in the wrong place.
I want to take a moment to thank all those who have served in the military and especially to those that gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that I and my family are alive and well.
I read in my local paper about a cemetery in Margraten, Holland (about 10 miles west of the German border) where 10,023 US servicemen and women are resting. What was so unique about this story is that the local residents have since 1945 assigned a local resident to visit and take care of EACH and EVERY grave all year long. I guess I'm getting older and more sentimental because as I was reading the story I felt tears rolling up in my eyes. With all the negative stories about how some Europeans feel/felt about Americans, this town has never forgotten the sacrifice paid over 70 years ago and continues to pass this along to their young. Great article Loveskiing, I'm surprised no one has commented. You shouldn't apologize for posting it in the wrong place as a story like this should be posted everywhere.

It really is a great story. It touched me also. I was surprised to see that not one had commented after all that time went by from when LS posted it.

In may I was in Bastogne and Neupre in the Belgian Ardennes ( The battle of the Bulge )

Because they died for our liberty . May they RIP ...
