2011 E92 M3 Whining Noise

Hey Everyone,

Please take a look at this video and tell me your thoughts.

It sounds like some type of whining noise, watched some Youtube Videos and closest thing i could find was a vacuum line leak noise.

Other day, I found my power steering fluids low due to a loud humming noise around 1.5 - 2k RPM, filled it and it doesn't have that sound anymore.

However, I have been very paranoid since then and think the sound in this video clip also isn't normal.

Any suggestions as to what this may be would be great, thank you!!

I have this EXACT problem with my car. I posted about it here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1197185

Everyone told me it's normal, but it's definitely new and wasn't there before.

Mine seems to be making the same noise, and it always has. In hindsight, I had a bad AC compressor bearing, which was causing noise of sort of the same pitch, but much more pronounced. It was getting stronger with RPM, and was disappearing after the engine is warmed up. Turning the AC on/off didn't make a difference. The dealer charged me around $2.2k for the repair. Good thing, I had a warranty.

I had the same issue a month ago and had to replace the power steering pump :/ best way to check is to have the car running and open the reservoir to see if the fluid is circulating. If it isn't, then most likely could be the pump. Either or, good luck with it and hopefully is nothing major! ?
