Greetings, first post o/
I've been lurking these forums while I shopped for my next BMW, time to say hi!
Long story short, I recently bought a 550i E60 - thinking that I would supercharge it, add headers, exhaust, and beef up the suspension to get it into M5 territory In the end, I shopped around and just got home with my new to me 2011 M3 E90 (4dr), it has M-Drive, DCT, EDC, light package and some other nice to haves. Loving the Le Mans Blue on Black/anthracite too!!! Traded in the 550i in the process. I drove it up from Portland to Seattle this afternoon, it was a perfect day with light traffic (unheard of here!). I got a pretty good feel for her so far, but I'm already strategizing on tuning upgrades hehe. |

I think it will take me a solid few weeks before I figure out what I don't like about the car, which would be a good starting point for where to throw my money at. |

Welcome aboard OP!
Went the same route, really liked the E60 550i and wanted more, ended up with current E90 M ('11 too). Absolutely love and I'm sure you will too. Report back when you have figured out what you don't like! Cheers |

Skip the tune, intake, pulley stuff and save to supercharge.
Congrats on the buy

The E60 550i was a great car, don't get me wrong .. but I have the feeling you share my same thoughts, in that it was just somewhat boring! Quote:
Based off of the service paperwork that came with this vehicle (I'm now the second owner), it looks like I might have to keep my eyes on the differential. From the looks of it, there was some error codes that it fired. Their remark was that they couldn't find any issues with it, but if it continued to produce the codes that it would need to be investigated further. With that said, I'm already preparing myself for having to replace it. In doing so, I would want to get something "geared" towards supporting an SC. If I would have kept my E60, I had planned to get a Quaife LSD - but I haven't dug into the potential options for my M3 yet. Thank you all!!! I'm usually not one to be moved by paint, but I have to admit that it is mesmerizing!!! |
