What is this?

Recently getting work done to my car, I looked under the dash and near the dead pedal are wires hanging out a small black box. I've attached a picture. Any help and suggestions would be helpful.

I assume you're not the first owner of this car? Looks like someone's prior mod leftovers.

What do the red and skinny black wires lead to? That's the easiest way to figure it out

I untangled them and took a pick. The red and black wires go separate ways. I've attached a pic

That looks like a Bluetooth antenna. That's just 1 part which came in as a kit. Didn't know BMW even offered this as an option on early 2000. Which car is this from OP?

Black one is the ground wire. I was gonna guess valves exhaust but I assume the previous owner would've sold that with the exhaust

You think I'll be alright to pull those out? My Bluetooth works fine so I'm not sure about what this is for.

This is bluetooth antenna module. Your bluetooth will work fine if you are close to the cable connection but once you exit the car, your Bluetooth connection will die

Technically you don' need it while you are in the car but if you want extended connection then you should have it.
