My Next Car...

DISCLAIMER: This thread is for un-biased car enthusiasts only!

My lovely M3 is going to its new owner in a few days and it's all happening too fast

So, my first choice is......another M3, but a very specific one and I don't want to settle for anything less. The problem is I cannot find it with my budget. Here's what I want with a max budget of $45K. I absolutely am not willing to stretch my budget.

2009+ e90 M3 6 speed, less than 30k miles, black or white with fox red extended leather. That's it!

Runners up: (long list)

1. 2012+ MB C63
2. 2011+ ISF
3. 2015+ Mustang GT
4. 2016 Camaro SS
5. 2015+ Challenger SRT 392
6. 2012+ Panamera S

Anything else I'm missing to consider? Gonna start test drives this weekend and need to make a decision in 30 days. HALP!

I would also consider leases for new cars if you guys can think of any worth mentioning with payments under $750 CA tax included. Typical 36mos/12k mi per yr.

Pretty confident statement. Any reason why? Aside from the exhaust note from hell.

Isn't the Camaro SS and Mustang GT head to head competitors? Considering the 1LE pack doesn't come out til later this year. Why excuse one and not the other?

Mags are saying Camaro is far and above the better of the 2. Beat m4 in several comparisons I believe also.

C63, Mustang, Camaro, Panamera S. Challenger is very nice also, but I hear that it feels really heavy.

No way he's picking up a GT4 for $45K, though. Unless you know something I don't, because I'll buy one right now if you do.

I did check on those but scratched off the list. Seems like it will be hard to or really expensive to get a warranty for those. I also get the feeling that those are maintenance nightmares.

I may consider a 2013 Audi RS5 now that you mention it! They seem to be a tad higher than my budget

My apologies, clearly I have an issue with reading.

for $45k, I'd go with

S2000 and put $15k on Mods
High mileage GTR
C63

Surprisingly, the lowest priced GTR on autotrader is $48k with 44k miles. I doubt they will get into my budget but never thought they were getting that cheap now!

Thanks for the suggestions

Yep! GTR is definitely within budget.
You can also consider Tesla Model S. I ordered one last month and can't wait to get it.

You can find CPO for $50 all day.

No need to apologize. We all have brainfarts every now and then.

The GTR is a beast! I was a doubter for years until I drove my brother's. He has a 2014 though, which is considered 2nd gen if I'm not mistaken. That thing handles amazingly.

You can definitely find that M3 that meets your criteria and price range. Unless the options you called out are ONLY the ones you want, then yes that would be a very rare car to find.

I am in the same boat here...but I don't have to sell my car. Why do you have to sell your E92 M3?

If I had to do it today, I would try to squeeze into a C6 Z06. 2012 MY...but not likely. Personally, Panamera, Camero SS and Challenger are off my list
