Time to pour a scotch...

Not the way you want to end the day! 88 yr old lady from around the corner decided to back down the street and in the process clipped my car and my neighbors truck...

Damage is not too bad and thankfully no injuries but time to take the M3 to the body shop.

Not bad at all. If she ends up using insurance, you should make a depreciated value claim with your insurance company though.

Might try that but not an easy claim for such a small amount of damage. No real dents, just needs a respray. Also given that the car is six years old, an uphill battle. But will keep it in mind!

Damn, that sucks. This is why I think people should be required to take the behind the wheel driving test again after a certain age.

Looks like she clipped the wheel as well. Better make sure the alignment didn't go out of whack.

Agreed, will let it sit until the adjuster takes a look. Guess I'm driving the Z3 for a while which is at least better than some crappy rental!

Interesting that she could strike _two_ separate vehicles on this little trip! Wonder if the Scotch at your neighbor's house was already sampled? But I guess at 88 and female this could be just the norm. Gettin' old sux. I try to keep in mind that everyone was young once and senior moments are coming for all of us that make it that far in life...

^ Agreed! I was nice to her, accidents happen. The damage is relatively minor and will be fixed. We'll all be old some day (hopefully!) and facing the same issues.

I recall the day we had to sit my grandmother down and take away her license and car. Not an easy thing to do...

Bummer! Worst part IMO is what a pain it is to deal with insurance and body shop.

What kind of scotch did you pour?

I recommend the Balvenie 14 year Caribbean Cask. It will help with the sting.

No. The water dept was at one corner making a repair which had the street closed. Obviously she did not notice and continued down the street so she was stuck and had to back out... I won't be too critical, I hope to make it to 88!

If you guys have a Trader Joe's near you check out their selection. They re-bottle stuff from big name distilleries at a lower price. Their 10 year tastes very similar to Macallan and is only $21.
