Need opinion: tire/rim question

What would you do??

So when i bought my 2011 i negotiated a set of new rear tires. i'll be getting them put on soon. The fronts aren't great, but i only drive about 700 miles a month so i'm thinking i can get away with them for a few months or buy a used front pair to last me a year probably less. i want to pick up a new set of rims/tires at the beginning of 2017.

Option 1: buy 2 new front tires as well to last me probably 2 years before getting replaced. in this case i'd probably have the OEMs rims refinished as well since they have some rash. then buy aftermarket rims 2 years later.

Option 2: leave the 2 fronts alone. ride on the new rears till jan/feb next year and pickup a new full set of rims/tires and sell the OEM ones.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

kind of tough choice. i guess my second question that i'll also post in the proper forum section; is will aftermarket 19's look stupid without the car being lowered?

You need to prioritize safety first. Traction/braking is very important in our cars especially if you need to make an emergency stop. These massive brakes will not to you any good if your front tires are out of spec.

Measure the front and if it is below or near minimum then replace.

How much wear are we talking up front? As long as you're not at the wear bars, just leave them be and replace at a later time. No use throwing perfectly good tires away.

6/32....between now and when i plan on getting a new set of rims/tires i'll probably drive 6K miles.....

i'll never beat on the car or drive it hard to be honest and even if i did it would be the new rear tires taking the beating...not the fronts.

6/32 is a LOT of tread remaining (most are 9/32 or 10/32 when new). I would leave those tires on.

Why would they look stupid? There were two different 19" wheels on this car from the factory, and they fill the wheel wells nicely on stock suspension.
