New Member Introduction
All,
I have been lurking quietly and ask a few questions over the last month or two, but now that I've picked up my 'new to me' e92 M3 wanted to introduce myself properly. I have spent the last 16 years in the Porsche Air Cooled world starting with a 993 that I wanted to keep stock and as a garage queen. After an autocross training weekend got hooked on autocross which graduated to the track. After 6 or so years of tracking the 993 and getting into club racing, moved to a 964 platform to be more competitive which I built into a track worthy instance and enjoyed DE and club racing. Well, life happened and I moved back to South Florida where Air Conditioning (air cooled 911s A/C isn't good enough for Florida) and driving the kids around became more important. I have kept an eye on the BMW M3s and have always loved these cars. Before my Porsche years I had a 328is and then at some point also enjoyed a 330xi as a daily driver for a while. Well, I'm very happy to have joined the M3 community and found this web board. I look forward to learning more about these cars, so be patient with me (I know...search is my friend) and hope that I can get it to the track at some point in the future when life lets up a bit, but in the meantime I am really enjoying the new platform and driving the kids and family around in cold A/C. Love the torque and power of the M3 at all rpms... Here are some pictures as all posts are better with pics. |

Jerez Black Metallic. #E9xM3exclusive
Welcome, and you have impeccable taste. I know folks that would think you are crazy looking at an E9xM3 from a Porsche vantage point. However, I disagree with them and agree with your thinking. As we're right, they can only be misguided badge whores, right?

Thanks everyone...
I love the black and considered white, but still just like a clean black car over anything else...so the A/C has to be up to the task. My Porsche friends don't think I'm nuts, as they are not posers, but instead are track guys and get it. If I can find a platform that allows me to meet family needs and still get to the track that is the ideal situation, so all is good since we car guys first! Hope to meet the local BMW crew in the near future. -Skip
