checking in...
hello all
I hate to keep the broken record playing, but I'm here as a new member too. I have driven mostly Subarus with a few front and RWD cars mixed in, but have always been a fan of the M cars and the M3 especially has been on my bucket list for a long long time. I picked up a 2008 E92 SSII 6MT in January and finally got around to joining after lurking and soaking up info for a few months. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by the constructive community of this forum. it reminds me of ducatimonsterforum.org, which has a great group of people as well. Anyway, The car has 45K miles on it, is in great shape for an 08. It seems to be mechanically very sound with only a few minor cosmetic blemishes. I'm the 3rd owner. the 2nd only had it for a year and traded it in for something more practical since he had a kid on the way (or so I was told by the sales person). My kids seem to fit fine in the back and like it just the same. I wasn't crazy about the color when i saw it in the ad, but in person it is great. Although the pics are from my mobile, the one really shows the varied color you get from SSII in different lighting. I look forward to the support and sharing in the community. cheers! complete with Recaros! winter setup |

Congrats and welcome. I have the same setup with the recaros in the back seats.
But that's the beauty of these cars isn't it? You can go out and flog it on the track then load up the fam on the weekends. These cars are so capable yet still practical. Enjoy it. |

Welcome to the club. Those child seat in the back are awesome. What kind of wheel/tire are you running in winter?

Yes, welcome to the club. SS and Space Gray were the only 2 exterior colors I wanted...Either look amazing imho.
Ducati was my bike back in the day before they blew up and everyone wanted one... Enjoy your ride, it's a keeper! |

thanks everyone!
the kids Recaros are great. seem to be very well made and secure. we've been using 2 sets for years now. nothing special, just a recommended square set up from tire rack: 18x8 sport edition wheels with Blizzak WS80 235/40/18 all around. I must say, even though we had a mild winter here in Michigan, with this set up the car handled really well. i'll report back next year if we get major snowfalls, but i was impressed. tell me about it. Ducati is everywhere now. the marketing reminds me of Ferrari and HD. oh well im glad i have one of the last "older style" monsters. its a blast to ride. although it might see more garage time now that i have the M! |

Welcome! SS II is a great color. Looks clean even when a little dirty and I think it really shows off the M3's bulges.

Nice to find a Fellow E9x M3 owner and Ducati Monster rider. Which one do you have? I have the 620, possibly looking at an upgrade to an S2R 1000 if one shows up locally.

I've got an 07 S4RS. like the M3 it was lucky find. i was picking up oil at the dealer (in 2012) and it had been traded in from a collection with only 130 miles on it! the S2R1000 was actually what I had started to search for but then i couldn't pass up the S4RS. best looking monsters IMO. i'll try to get a picture up with the M once i finally get it out for the season. |

There was an S2R 1000 that popped up locally right after I bought my M3 so it wouldnt have been the smartest financial decision to buy both at that time. |
