E92 M3 Competition Package???
Ok I know this is probably a really dumb question but I was trying to look it up and considering I couldn't find anything I'm guessing the answer is a no but anyway here we go. So I wanted to know if it's possible to get the competition package installed onto a regular e92 M3?
What I mean by that is get everything done to your regular M3 e92 that the competition package comes with, the lowered suspension and everything else but do it all with oem parts? I'm guessing you can't but if anyone knows or has attempted this could you guys let me know?

Can you? Yes.
Should you? No. Why? Price to retrofit vs. Performance gained is not worth it at all. The Competition Package in reality doesn't give you any more "performance." |

Yes, all the physical parts (springs, wheels) are definitely a yes. The electronic programming for revised EDC and MDM, not so sure...
here's a guy who did it: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=411923 What you're going to pay for is probably 60% of the way towards a decent set of aftermarket suspension which may be better than ZCP, it all depends on your needs. IMO, you will never ever tell the difference between ZCP and non-zcp suspension in both looks and feel. It's a worthless mod. The wheels on the other hand...yes do that if you love the look.

I know there are recommendations whether I should run 1.5 psi less in rears or whether I use Power button and whatnot...

Yes, you can retrofit it all. It won't be cheap.
If you like the wheels, buy those, and take the rest of the money and put it into other things.

Probably easier to go out and find a ZCP. ZCP wheels and good suspension would make a lot more sense as previously mentioned. Good luck though in your endeavor!

OP, don't listen to the guys dreaming about comp pack...☺
Retrofit will cost you an arm and a leg but it is quite possible. Here's another one: http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=120370 Good luck and report back! |

OP, do NOT listen to these guys. While I know that I can be thrown out of the elusive and highly secretive ZCP Club, I've had it with their smug "keep everyone else out" demeanor! They don't want you to know that there's a huge difference in ZCP and non ZCP. When we press the hidden ZCP-M button, we turn the car from pussycat to snarling wild beast. You instantly gain whp, traction, performance, and testicular appendage growth. It's like going from Dr. Bruce Banner to the HULK. Sometimes I'm terrified of hitting that button around other inferior cars because the car does things by itself and well I can't believe that we just ran and smoked Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis, etc. and she hasn't even got warmed up! So unless you're physically, mentally, and psychologically prepared, leave your car the way it is! Finally, if you do retrofit your car, make sure you triple your life insurance!
Good luck either way! |
